
A TEACHER was gunned down on Sunday by his brother-in-law over a piece of land in Bulacan.
A report to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr. by the Malolos police identified the victim as Mark Anthony Benedict, 36, a resident of 1069 Tawiran St., Bgy. Panasahan, Malolos City, Bulacan.
The suspect was Benedict’s brother-in law James Emerson Fernando, 30.
An investigation showed that before the shooting, the victim and the suspect, who have an old grudge over their land property, accidentally met on Sunday.
The two had a heated argument. At the height of the fight, the suspect suddenly pulled out a gun and shot the victim before fleeing.
Witnesses rushed Benedict to the hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival by an attending physician.
The Malolos police immediately flashed alarm to arrest the suspect.
