LEYTE — Karla Estrada represented the Office of House Speaker Martin Romualdez and Tingog Partylist Representatives Yedda Marie K. Romualdez and Jude A. Acidre in delivering cash assistance to a total of 4710 constituents from Oct. 1-2, in Leyte province.
As the Tingog Partylist’s Director for Community Engagements, Estrada delivered various aids through the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS), Department of Labor and Employment’s Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) and Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD).
The two-day activity distributed cash assistance to 1,000 beneficiaries each from Carigara and Palompon; 2,500 individuals from Tacloban, and 180 students who were enlisted to the Government Internship Program (GIP), while 30 beneficiaries received pedicabs under DOLE’s Livelihood Program.
Most beneficiaries consisted of barangay health care workers, students and those from the poorest communities in Leyte, among others.
Originating from Leyte province, Tingog Partylist continues to fulfill its promise of providing better lives through quality public service not only to Region 8 but to everyone in the country, as seen in their Alagang Tingog Centers (ATC) strategically located in the different parts of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
Reps. Romualdez and Acidre on the other hand is expected to open more ATCs in the country before the year ends to bring government assistance closer to Filipino people.
