TINGOG Partylist, along with the Office of Speaker Martin Romualdez, is working round-the-clock to provide emergency relief assistance to thousands of families affected by severe flooding in Northern Samar province.
Nonstop heavy rains brought by a low pressure area and shear line submerged several towns along the coast of the province on Tuesday, November 21. Based on provincial government data, around 22,000 individuals across the municipalities of Maslog, Arteche, Jipapad, Dolores and Maydolong were affected by the flooding. As of today, there are 1,838 recorded evacuees.
“We are deeply saddened by the damage caused by this natural calamity. We urgently need to get aid to affected families who lost their homes and livelihoods,” said Tingog Partylist Representative Yedda Romualdez.
Tingog Partylist is working with the Office of the Speaker and their district office in Eastern Visayas to prepare thousands of family food packs containing grocery items, drinking water, and hygiene kits. The first batch was dispatched Tuesday afternoon and more relief operations are underway.
“Tingog Partylist will continue to monitor the situation in Northern Samar and Eastern Samar. Our office in Tacloban City is on standby to extend all necessary assistance to victims of this flooding,” added Rep. Jude Acidre. “We hope these relief supplies will help families get back on their feet.”
