A BUSINESSMAN on Monday killed himself after stabbing his live-in partner during a heated fight in their house in Calamba City, Laguna.
Calamba City OIC police chief Lt. Col. Milany Martinez identified the fatality as Macario Dañas, of Blk. 16, L33, Maesco Subd., Bgy. Palo Alto, Calamba City.
Dañas was declared dead on arrival at the Global Medical Center due to stab wounds in the chest and abdomen.
The businessman’s live-in partner, Rosalie Bress, also sustained several stab wounds and is being treated at the same hospital.
Prior to the stabbing, the live-in partners quarreled inside their house over financial problem around 8:55 a.m. on Monday.
At the height of the fight, Dañas grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed Bress repeatedly before stabbing himself in the chest and abdomen.
Despite wounded, Bress was able to seek for help from neighbors and barangay officials.
The two were rushed to Global Medical Center in Bgy. Canlubang, where Dañas was declared dead on arrival by an attending physician.
