
Two local access road projects under Local Government Support Fund – Support to Barangay Development Program (LGSF-SBDP) in Brgy. Macabud, Rodriquez and Sta. Ines, Tanay were already completed under the supervision of the Rizal Provincial Task Force – ELCAC.The projects worth of PhP27M can now be utilized by the residents of the barangays in transporting their produce towards the municipality.
These infrastructure projects will definitely give opportunity to the said barangays and its adjacent and nearby communities better accessibility in transporting their farm produce and delivery of basic services by the local government unit.
Hon. Rebecca A. Ynares, Chairperson of PTF-ELCAC and Governor of Rizal, expressed her gratitude for the implementation of the Barangay Development Program in their priority barangays.
She said that the program manifests the commitment and teamwork of the national government and LGUs. She also thanked all those who supported the program.Hon. Judith U. Gandia, Brgy Macabud Chairperson is similarly thankful to the government for finally considering their village as recipient of an improved road access through the “Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict” (ELCAC) program.
On the other hand, Brigadier General Cerilo C Balaoro Jr, 202nd Infantry Brigade Commander cited that these two barangays were once strongholds of the armed rebels.
“Through the Rizal Task Force ELCAC, the residents were able to understand that presence of military, police and local government unit and other government agencies in the communities geared towards promoting their welfare and importantly, improve their quality of living. Peace and development are now within reach as convergence of different agencies will lead towards more developmental projects”.
Aside from the completed projects, the people of Sta Ines are also awaiting for the completion of a health center where all residents can benefit from an efficient and quality health services.
The BDP is a flagship program of the NTF-ELCAC with the end goal of bringing development to former conflict-ridden communities.
