Camp Crame, Quezon City – THE Philippine National Police (PNP) confirmed that 29 out of the 30 individuals identified in the multi-billion drug bust in 2022 has been issued warrants of arrest by Hon. Gwyn Calina of RTC Branch 44, National Capital Judicial Region, for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Chief PNP Police General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil has issued directives to ensure accountabilities for all involved personnel, emphasizing the PNP’s commitment to combating misconduct within its ranks. “There will be no mercy when it comes to wrongdoings committed by our personnel,” he stated.
“This decisive action demonstrates our commitment to eradicating corruption and maintaining public trust in the PNP.”
“We assure the public that justice will be served. Those responsible for tarnishing the PNP’s reputation will be held accountable both criminally and administratively,” Marbil added.
Among the 30 implicated personnel, 22 remain active in service, two have retired, three have opted for early retirement, one has resigned, and two have already been dismissed.
To ensure the swift apprehension of all implicated individuals, Police Major General Edgar Alan O. Okubo, Chief of the Directorial Staff, has formed a dedicated Task Force that will actively pursue the personnel involved to ensure that they will face appropriate sanctions, including dismissal.
