The Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) are working double time to fast track the construction of the LRT-1 Cavite Extension Project which is scheduled to be opened next year.
The project is now 73% completed.
Currently, the trackwork installation is 50% complete, while the electromechanical works, such as laying of rails and installation of the electrical system, as well as the construction of the five (5) additional LRT-1 stations namely, the Redemptorist, MIA, PITX Asia World, Ninoy Aquino, and Dr. Santos, are going full blast.
This extension project is expected to minimize travel time between Baclaran and Bacoor, Cavite to just 25 minutes, from 1 hour and 10 minutes, and increase LRT-1’s capacity from 500,000 to 800,000 passengers daily.
