A WAYWARD truck plowed into several motorcycles and vehicles killing one and injuring nine others on Emilio Aguinaldo Highway in Brgy.San Agustin,Dasmarinas City ,Cavite.
Police identified the fatality as Jonel Dariagan Dacles, 37, driver of the Honda XRM motorcycle who was pinned between the vehicles.
Jomar Abad, 28; Butz Del Carmen, 34; Jose Daryl Sobretodo, 34; Rodelle Terrence Mejia, 23; Emmanuel Santos, 46; Ritzand Neil Recto, 38; Jeffrey Jardin, 4; Renario Pagalan, 54 and Edwin Cabong, 52, all drivers were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
According to Staff Sergeant Apolonio Narte the mishap occurred at 9 p.m. on Tuesday.
The Suzuki swift driven by Abad, the Yamaha NMax driven by Del Carmen, Yamaha Nmax driven by Sobretodo, Honda XRM motorcycle driven by Mejia, Honda Click motorcycle driven by Santos, Hyundai Accent driven by Recto, Toyota Innova wagon driven by Jardin, a Fuso Tractor head, a Toyota Avanza driven by Pagalan and the Isuzu Jitney driven by Cabong stopped on a traffic light when they were hit by the Hino van truck driven by 26-year-old Gerald Dalonoy Corimo.
Corimo said he lost control of the truck after the vehicle’s brakes malfunctioned and hit the motorcycles and other vehicles in front.
Charges for homicide, multiple physical injury and damage to property were filed against the truck driver.
