A 13-YEAR-OLD boy was found hammered to death in their home in Pototan, Iloilo.
Pototan police chief Capt. Ciriaco Esquilarga identified the victim as Raul Pacheco Jr., a resident of Bgy. Casalsagan, Pototan town.
The boy had multiple head injuries. Beside him was a blood-stained hammer.
Probers said there was also an indication that the victim was strangled based on the visible marks on the boy’s neck.
Raul Pacheco Sr. arrived home from work as a carpenter at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
He looked for his son and was shocked to see him on the kitchen floor bloodied and dead.
Pacheco Sr. also found some coins scattered on the floor.
The victim and his father were running an internet shop in their house.
Esquilarga said they are eyeing robbery as motive for the killing.
“Posibleng taga roon lang ang suspect. Baka pumasok sa bahay para kunin and benta sa internet shop pero nakita at nakilala ng bata kaya ito pinatay,” the town’s top cop said.
