167 House members attend Davao del Norte Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair

IF the House of Representatives held sessions in Davao del Norte on Friday, it would have had a quorum.

A record 167 members of the House of Representatives  — more than half of the composition of the entire chamber — including former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, attended the two-day Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair (BPSF) held in Tagum City in Davao del Norte on Friday, practically inside the bailiwick of the previous administration who have been critical of the chamber’s leadership.

Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez said he is very pleased with the eagerness and willingness of members of the House to witness first-hand how the BPSF is bridging the people across important government services and assistance programs.

“Tunay na tayo’y nagagalak at napakaraming kongresista ang nakarating sa programa ng ating Pangulong Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. at personal na masaksihan kung paano nakakatulong sa mga mamamayan ang bawat ayudang inilalaan natin sa ating national budget,” said Romualdez, the leader of the 300-plus members House of Representatives, as he acknowledged the presence of former President Arroyo, a congresswoman from Pampanga, in the event.

A total of P913 million was rolled out for over 250,000 beneficiaries in the BPSF in Davao del Norte, also the largest in terms of the number of citizens served. It is 19th installment of the Service Caravan, the 8th in the whole of Mindanao, next to Zamboanga City, Bukidnon, Agusan del Norte, Sultan Kudarat, Davao de Oro, and Tawi-Tawi.

It is also the 2nd in the Davao Region.
