Camp BGen Vicente P Lim – DRUG Enforcement Team of Rodriguez Municipal Police Station arrested two high-value individuals and seized Php 680,000 worth of Shabu and an illegal firearm during a drug bust operation, morning of October 21, 2023, in Brgy San Rafael, Rodriguez, Rizal.
The arrested suspects, known by their aliases “Ron-Ron” and “Sophia,” were listed as High-Value Individuals in the Rodriguez MPS Drugs Watchlist. They were apprehended after attempting to sell a sachet of suspected Shabu to an undercover police officer acting as a poseur buyer.
Recovered from the suspects were more or less 100 grams of Shabu, valued at Php 680,000, a Caliber 38 Revolver loaded with 4 ammunition, a sling bag, a coin purse, and drug bust money.
The arrested suspects, along with the confiscated pieces of evidence, will be transferred to Rizal Provincial Crime Laboratory Office for a drug testing and forensic examination.Further, pertinent documents are being prepared for filing charges against the arrested suspects under RA 9165, also known as the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002,” RA 10591, known as the “Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act,” and Batas Pambansa 881, known as the “Omnibus Election Code of the Philippines”.
PBGen Paul Kenneth Lucas , Acting Regional Director of PRO Calabarzon , expressed his admiration for the unwavering dedication and effectiveness of the dedicated personnel of Rodriguez MPS in addressing criminal activities within the region.
He stated, “I underscored that the dedicated efforts of our PRO Calabarzon personnel stand as a resounding testament to our unwavering commitment in the fight against illegal drugs and the unlawful possession of firearms. This commitment is especially crucial as we gear up for the forthcoming 2023 Barangay and Kabataan Sanggunian Election. We firmly believe that our responsibilities are pivotal in safeguarding the community against all forms of criminality”.
