TWENTY farm group members have withdrawn their support to the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s while two former rebels returned to the fold of law in Nueva Ecija and Pampanga.
The intensified intelligence-driven operations of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 3 led by acting commander Lt. Col. Jay Dimaandal resulted in the withdrawal of support of 20 members of Liga ng Manggagawang Bukid (LMB) from the CPP-NPA held at the 303rd MC headquarters, Gapan City, Nueva Ecija on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, “Ka Rambo”, a former member of Kilusang Larangan Guerilla (KLG West), surrendered to the 1st Pampanga PMFC on Wednesday in Bgy. Hacienda Dolores, Porac, Pampanga.
“Ka Rambo” also turned-in a cal..45 pistol, seven live bullets, and one M49A2 60mm mortar or high explosive.
Combined elements of the 1st PMFC Nueva Ecija and other police units facilitated the voluntary surrender of “Lusing,” a former member of Milisyang Bayan, on Burgos Ave., Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija.
“Lusing” yielded a cal. .38 revolver and two live bullets.
Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr. commended the troops, saying the surrender and withdrawal of support are testaments of the PNP’s efforts to provide avenues for active and former rebels to return to the fold of the law and for their supporters to come back to government side in a peaceful manner.
