THREE female members of the Anakpawis-Bulacan chapter were among the six persons who withdrew their support from the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army.
The other three were former communist terror group members in Pampanga and Olongapo City.
In reports submitted to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr., members of the Bataan police and other police units facilitated the surrender of three female members of Anakpawis in Limay, Bataan.
The trio also turned in a cal. .38 revolver with four live ammunition.
Hidalgo said that in Angeles City, former rebel alias “Bong” and an active supporter of WKLG SPC pledged his support back to the government and surrendered one cal. .38 revolver, one 40mm high explosive and explosive materials ANFO (ammonium nitrate fuel oil).
In Olongapo City, police and military units facilitated the surrender of “Ka Julie,” a farmer and a native of San Marcelino, Zambales.
“Ka Julie” was a former member of Bagong Hukbong Bayan (BHB) Sangay Yunit Guerilla/Provincial Yunit Guerilla (SYG/PYG) under the communist terrorist group (CTG) operating in Zambales.
He surrendered a cal. .38 revolver, one cal. .38 live bullet and a hand grenade.
Another rebel, alias “Ka Buknoy,” of Kilusang Larangan Guerilla (KLG West) surrendered and turned in one cal. .45 pistol, one magazine, and M67 grenade to Pampanga 1st Provincial Mobile Force Force Company, Floridablanca police and other police units.
The Central Luzon top cop noted that the continuous surrender and withdrawal of support of the former terror group members were the result of the joint police and military operations in identified CTG-affected areas.
Hidalgo urged the remaining CTG leaders and members to surrender and join the government in attaining a long lasting peace and development for the sake of their families.
