
FIVE persons, including three Koreans, were killed while two others were seriously injured in a collision between a Sport Utility Vehicle and a truck on Tuesday morning in Baliwag City, Bulacan.
Police identified the fatalities as Korean nationals Miseon Kim, Park Misoon, and Jinoh Kim, and their Filipino companions Rosalinda Capinlac, of Bgy. San Vicente, Llanera, Nueva Ecija; and Allen Arucan Bulandos, of Bgy. Poblacion, Talavera, Nueva Ecija.
The injured were Geraldine Capinlac and Theresa Adio, of Llanera, Nueva Ecija.
The driver of the truck identified as PJ Calma, of Bgy. Mangga , Candaba, Pampanga, was arrested by responding lawmen.
An investigation showed the truck was on its way to Ulingao, San Rafael when upon reaching near Cedar Ville on Sabang Highway in Baliwag City, it collided with the victims’ Toyota Fortuner around 6 a.m. on Tuesday.
The seven passengers of the SUV sustained serious injuries and were brought to Baliwag District Hospital, where the five victims were declared dead upon arrival by attending physician Dra. Bea Estrella.
Charges for reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide and damage to property were filed against the truck driver before the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office in Malolos City, Bulacan.
