GOVERNMENT prosecutors summoned Negros Oriental Rep. Arnolfo “Arnie” Teves Jr. and five other individuals to respond to multiple charges in connection with the killing of provincial governor Roel Degamo and nine others.
Senior Deputy State Prosecutor Richard Anthony Fadullon said Teves and the other respondents must submit their counter-affidavits by June 13.
Subpoenas have already been issued to Teves and the five individuals.
The National Bureau of Investigation, on behalf of the victims’ families, filed 10 counts of murder, 14 counts of frustrated murder, and four counts of attempted murder against the Negros solon and the other respondents.
Teves consistently denied any involvement in Degamo’s killing and said he intends to return to the Philippines once his personal safety concerns have been addressed adequately.
