THE Regional Statistical System spearheads the celebration of the 34th National Statistics Month (NSM) this October 2023 in the region. The theme for the month-long celebration is “Accelerating Progress: Promoting Data and Statistics for Healthy Philippines” which emphasizes the importance of data and statistics in enhancing health outcomes and accelerating the nation’s socioeconomic development with the use of quality health and health-related statistics.
In relation to the 34th NSM, various activities will be conducted to promote, enhance, and instill awareness and appreciation of the importance and value of statistics to the different sectors of society and elicit the cooperation and support of the public in upgrading the quality and standards of statistics in the country. Philippine Statistics Authority Regional Statistical Services Office IV-A encourages all the Regional/Provincial Line Agencies, local government units, academe, different organizations and the public to participate in the 34th NSM activities which include the following data.
The annual celebration is pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 647 declaring the month of October of every year as the National Statistics Month signed by then President Corazon C. Aquino on September 20, 1990.
