THE Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) responds to a fire onboard incident involving MV Ken at the vicinity waters off Castilla Anchorage Area ,Barangay Poblacion, Castilla, Sorsogon at around 1:00 am today, 02 November 2023.
MV Ken , a cargo vessel owned by Pherwin Shipping Corporation, located at Milaor, Camarines Sur, was anchored when the incident occurred.
The PCG coordinated with the Philippine Navy (PN) and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) for joint search and rescue (SAR) and firefighting operations.
As of press time, Navy Craft BRP Federico Martir (PC-385) is still conducting firefighting together with the crew of MV Ken and MV Anabelle .
