A WANTED Korean swindler and his cohort were arrested and will be deported by Bureau of Immigration (BI) following their recent arrest in Pampanga.
Immigration Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado said Park Chang Suk, 41, and Lee Yunwoo, 39, were arrested last Nov. 12 at the Clark Freeport zone in Angeles City by operatives from the BI’s fugitive search unit (FSU).
Viado said the arresting agents were armed with a mission order which he issued at the request of the Korean government which sought the BI’s help in locating Park who is wanted in his country for large-scale fraud.
Incidentally, during the operation the arresting team also encountered and arrested Lee, an overstaying Korean whom Park pinpointed as the one who sheltered him despite knowing that he the latter is a fugitive from justice.
“They will be deported after our board of commissioners has issued the order for his summary deportation. He will then be included in our blacklist of undesirable aliens and banned from re-entering the Philippines,” the BI chief added.
According to the BI Interpol unit, Park is subject of a blue notice issued by Seoul Interpol after he was charged with fraud the Suwon district court in Korea.
The said court issued a warrant for Park’s arrest on May 10 this year based on charges that he deceived his victims into granting him loans worth 80 million won, or about US$57,000 as alleged payment for his property which was being foreclosed.
Meanwhile, BI-FSU operatives also arrested a Chinese woman who is wanted for kidnapping by authorities in his country.
Arrested last Nov. 14 at the San Antonio Plaza Arcade in Makati City was Yu Yue, 36, who will also be deported for being a wanted fugitive in China.
A Warrant for Yu’s arrest was reportedly issued by the Public Security Bureau in Jinjiang City China last June 14.
All three aliens are presently detained at the BI detention facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City pending deportation proceedings.
