OPERATIVES of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) seized ₱272,000,000.00 worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, during a buy-bust operation in Rizal.
PDEA Director General Undersecretary Isagani R. Nerez said the estimated weight of the confiscated shabu is more or less 40 kilograms.
On March 19, 2025 just before midnight, joint elements of PDEA Intelligence Service; PDEA Regional Office-National Capital Region (RO-NCR) Regional Special Enforcement Team 2; PDEA Regional Office IV-A, Rizal Provincial Office; and the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Unit (PNP-PDEU) Rizal, conducted a buy-bust operation at Rizal Cement Village, Barangay Pantok, Binangonan, Rizal that led to the arrest of one drug personality identified as alias “Ronald”.
Confiscated during the operation were 40 black gold foil packs containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, weighing approximately 40 kilograms.
The arrested suspect will be charged for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Illegal Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Illegal Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Undersecretary Nerez commended the concerned drug law enforcement units for the high-impact operation. “Operation of this magnitude dealt a major blow to the supply chain of illegal drugs in the streets. There are more to come”, the Director General said.
