Laoag City, Ilocos Norter – THE Department of Health (DOH) – Ilocos Region actively participated in the “Handog ng Pangulo: Serbisyong Tapat Para sa Lahat” program, a nationwide initiative that brings government services directly to communities in celebration of the President’s commitment to inclusive and responsive public service.
Held on September 13, 2025, in key provinces across the region, the event highlighted the DOH’s efforts to provide accessible, quality, and people-centered health services for every Ilocano family. Free consultations, medical check-ups, immunizations, nutrition counseling, hearing screening, ewborn screening, dental services, and health education activities were offered during the outreach.
Regional Director Paula Paz M. Sydiongco emphasized that the initiative strengthens the government’s thrust to “Kalusugan at Serbisyong Ramdam ng Lahat” by reaching underserved communities and ensuring that no one is left behind in accessing essential health care.
“Through the Handog sa Pangulo program, we are bringing our services closer to the people. This is our way of showing that public health is not confined to hospitals and clinics—it is about going to the communities and making sure every Filipino can live a healthier, more productive life,” she added.
Aside from free health services, DOH Ilocos Region also distributed information, education, and communication (IEC) materials, promoted healthy lifestyle practices, and conducted orientations on government health programs such as PhilHealth Konsulta, Universal Health Care (UHC), and the DOH Health Promotion Framework Strategy.
Assistive devices for senior citizens and person with disabilities were distributed during the event. Like wise, buntis kits for pregnant mothers, oral health kits and medicines were also provided.
The activity was conducted in partnership with local government units (LGUs), regional line agencies, and private sector partners, reinforcing the importance of multi-sectoral collaboration in advancing health and development goals.
The DOH Ilocos Region assures the public that it will continue to support the Handog sa Pangulo program by rolling out more health-related activities across the provinces of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, and Pangasinan, bringing the vision of Health for All closer to reality.
