THE Command Center of the Laguna Provincial Capitol is currently operating with several monitors but only five connected CCTV cameras—a situation that Governor Sol Aragones has deemed urgent to address.
Together with the head of Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offic (PDRRMO) Aldwin Cejo, the governor inspected the facility and discussed the upgrades needed. Cejo confirmed that the command center currently has only eight monitors, saying, “Kailangan isaayos na, kailangan po kumpletuhin yung mga gamit talaga para ho mas marami tayong matulungan.”
Governor Aragones emphasized that a fully equipped monitoring system would allow real time viewing of conditions across all towns and cities in Laguna. “Ang gusto ko makita sa command center na sinasabi ko ay ang sitwasyon ng bawat bayan,” she said, explaining that complete monitoring equipment will enable faster on the spot response during disasters.
She also assured that the provincial government has the funds to install 30 CCTV units across various municipalities and cities to ensure comprehensive coverage.
Becoming emotional during her visit, the governor expressed how deeply she was moved by the current situation in calamity-affected areas. “Ang pinag-uusapan po dito ay buhay ng tao,” said Governor Aragones, stressing that the immediate setup of additional CCTV cameras is crucial for swift disaster response and protection of lives.
Aldwin Cejo expressed his deep gratitude for the governor’s directive, acknowledging that the governor’s leadership ensures proactive solutions rather than delays. The move, he said, reflects the province’s firm commitment to building a safer and more prepared Laguna, one that responds swiftly, saves more lives, and never waits for tragedy to strike before taking action.
