OPERATIVES of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 3 arrested a motorcycle-riding man in possession of an unlicensed firearm at a checkpoint in Bulacan.
In a report to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr., RMFB3 commander Lt. Col. Jay Dimaandal said suspect Benjie Mendoza, 42, of Bgy. 396, Tayuman, Manila, was traveling on a motorcycle when flagged down by joint checkpoint team on MacArthur Highway, Bgy. Saluysoy in Meycauayan, Bulacan.
When asked to show pertinent documents, the suspect opened his motorcycle compartment and in plain view, authorities saw a cal. .38 revolver and six live bullets.
The suspect failed to present any documents for the gun,
Dimaandal said the suspect will be charged with violation of Republic Act 10591.
“We have been continuously beefing up our aggressive drive to recover and to seize loose firearms. May this serve as a stern warning to all, especially those who have not yet renewed their licenses or turned over their undocumented firearms in their nearest police stations for safekeeping. Stricter penalties are imposed against violators,” Hidalgo said.
