A SOLDIER turned top drug target in Bicol region was killed in a shootout with operatives of the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group and the Police Regional Office 5 in Guinobatan, Albay yesterday.
Slain was Cpl. Aaron Magbuhat, a 33-year-old Armed Forces enlisted personnel tagged as a member of the “Rigo-Magbuhat Drug Group” and a high-value individual in the regional watchlist of the Bicol police.
Magbuhat died in the exchange of fire in Bgy. Inamnam in Pequeño, Guinobatan municipality around 12:40 a.m. yesterday.
PNP-DEG director Brig. Gen. Narciso Domingo said the suspect resisted arrest and fired shots at the poseur-buyer, prompting lawmen to retaliate.
The suspect died on the spot.
Recovered from the slain suspect were around two grams of shabu worth P13,600, a hand grenade, a cal. .45 semi-automatic pistol with loaded magazine, a wallet containing several identification cards and a smart phone.
