RIDING-IN-TANDEM gunmen on Friday shot dead a businessman in Sariaya, Quezon.
Slain was Victor Marquez, 49, owner of Melzeedio Motor Parts and a resident of Bgy. Janagdong 1.
Marquez suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was declared dead on arrival at the Candelaria Doctors Hospital in Candelaria town.
A 15-year-old girl identified as Katrina Gwyneth, of Bgy. Lutucan Malabag, was hit by a stray bullet on the arm. She was brought to Lucena United Doctors Hospital in Lucena City for treatment.
The gun attack occurred on Guis-guis Lutucan Road, Bgy. Sto Cristo, Sariaya municipality.
Officers on case PSMS Andro Radones and PMSg Gerardo Eballa said Marquez was in front of his shop when approached by two men on a motorcycle.
The backrider quickly pulled out a cal. 45 pistol and shot Marquez repeatedly.
Gwyneth, who happened to be in the area, was hit by a stray bullet.
The gunmen fled towards Bgy. Guisguis Talon.
Responding lawmen recovered at the crime scene 12 pieces of fired cartridge cases for cal. 45 pistol.
Police are conducting follow-up investigation to arrest the suspects.
