Baguio City – The Baguio City District Engineering Office has begun installing Internally Illuminated (Solar) Pavement Levelled Markers/Studs Flush Type along the major thoroughfares of the city.
According to District Engineer Rene Zarate, the solar marker will aid motorists for a better vision of the streets at night and help prevent accidents.
The road-marking system is adopted and installed on several facilities like roadway delineations, bridges, sign lightings, shoulders and center lines for the purpose of security.
Zarate added that the safety device is prescribed for government infrastructure projects that requires its use and is effective in reducing night time vehicular accidents, and can facilitate the safe and smooth flow of transportation along highways.
