FRESH from the success of the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair Agency Summit, the country’s biggest service and convergence caravan on Saturday rolled out a total of P563 million worth of government services and financial aid to over 60,000 residents in Batangas.
Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez, the main proponent of the service caravan, said no less than the son of Batangas, Finance Sec. Ralph Recto, also a former Batangas representative, served as the local host for the BPSF that was held in Lipa City Saturday until Sunday.
“Natutuwa tayo at kahit Secretary of Finance na si dating Congressman Ralph Recto ay siya pa rin ang tumayong local host ng ating BPSF sa Batangas at ang pagbabalik natin sa BPSF mula sa pahayag ng mas pinatinding interes ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. sa service caravan na nagbigay ng ibayong motivation sa ating organizers,” Speaker Romualdez said.
Some 143 House members, including former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, and Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. and other government and local officials also participated in the event.
“Kailangan nang itayo ang mga Serbisyo at Tulong Center sa bawat lalawigan sa Pilipinas. Serbisyo ng gobyerno, direkta na sa tao, ito ang pangako ni Pangulong Marcos sa ating mga kababayan!” the leader of the 300-plus-strong House of Representatives declared.
Speaker Romualdez said this is the second time the BPSF visited CALABARZON Region following its first visit to Sta. Cruz, Laguna November last year.
The BPSF in Batangas was the 22nd instalment of the BPSF, which aims to reach all 82 provinces nationwide, bringing with it the advocacy of a “Mabilis, Maayos, Maginhawa at Masayang serbisyo publiko.”
Speaker Romualdez represented President Marcos in the opening program held at the Aboitiz Pitch – Lima Park in Lipa City Saturday.
True to its commitment to bringing efficient government service closer to the people, the BPSF Batangas featured 50 participating agencies with 209 services offered to over 60,000 beneficiaries.
During the two-day festival of services, over half a billion pesos worth of programs were brought to the entire province, P265 million of which were in the form of cash assistance programs.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) conducted continuous payouts for 34,000 beneficiaries across the province of Batangas.
On the first night of the BPSF, a free Pagkakaisa Concert will be held at the same venue.
In only a year since its launching, more than P10 billion worth of assistance were already provided to 2.5 million families in the 21 BPSFs.
With the steadfast leadership of the Marcos administration, bolstered by the unwavering support of the House of Representatives through Speaker Romualdez, the BPSF will continue until the rest of the 60 provinces have been visited.
The BPSF is the embodiment of a convergence mechanism for a whole-of- government and a whole-of-nation approach to nation-building and reigniting national pride. This endeavor proves the commitment of President Marcos to ensure that no Filipino is left behind.
