A CALL CENTER agent on Saturday was arrested for molesting a 12-year-old girl inside a passenger jeepney in Tanza, Cavite.
Nabbed was John Mark Dimabayao, a 33-year-old resident of Belvedere 1 Subdivision, Bgy. Paradahan 1, Tanza, Cavite.
Staff Sgt. Josephine Tumaliuan said the victim, whose name was withheld, and her aunt, Jovelyn Lorenzo, were passengers of a jeepney from SM Trece Martirez City to Tanza when they encountered the suspect, who repeatedly leaned his head on the child’s shoulder at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
The suspect then put his hand on the legs of the victim then touched her hips.
The aunt called out Dimabayao but the suspect shouted at them and demanded that they get off the jeepney.
At this point, a male passenger intervened and asked Dimabayao to behave himself. But instead of yielding, Dimabayao punched and kicked the passenger.
This prompted the driver to stop his jeepney in front of the barangay hall, where village watchmen Allan Walter Filipinas and Jeff Herrera accosted the suspect and turned him over to the Tanza Municipal Police Station.
Charges for physical injuries and acts of lasciviousness in relation to Republic Act 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act) were filed against the suspect, who, on Monday was brought for inquest before the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office in Imus.
