A ROB suspect on Monday was killed in a shootout with the police in Davao City.
In a report to Police Regional Office 11 director Brig. Gen. Benjamin Silo Jr., victim Mary Jane Catagyamon, 24, of Purok 4, Agdao, Davao City told police that a man robbed her at gunpoint at the junction of USEP Bypass Road in Bgy. Mintal, Tugbok District, Davao City.
Personnel of the Police Station 9 showed the victim the rouge gallery and photographs of robbery suspects and positively pointed to alias “Dondon,” a resident of Purok 23B, Bgy. 76-A, Davao City, as the one who robbed her.
Silo said a police team led by station commander Maj. Michael Uyungaren was dispatched to arrest the suspect and recover the stolen belongings of the victim.
Police received an information that the suspect was sighted in Purok 22, Kapareda Compound, Bgy. 76A.
Lawmen, with the victim, proceeded to the area to arrest alias “Dondon” but the suspect pulled out a gun and fired at Uyungaren, prompting officers to retaliate.
Recovered at the clash site were the suspect’s loaded cal. .38 revolver with three fired bullets, and three fired cartridges for cal. .9mm gun.Also recovered from the slain suspect were the stolen belongings of the victim, a wallet containing plastic cards, receipts, two cellphones, various fighting cock paraphernalia, a coin purse containing 19 plastic sachets of shabu, a wrist watch, a pair of sunglasses and P3,400 in cash.
