A NEW centenarian and octogenarians in General Trias City, Cavite on Monday received cash incentives
during a simple ceremony held last Monday at the GenTri Park Pavillion in Bgy. San Juan in the city.
General Trias City Mayor Luis “Jon Jon” Ferrer IV personally handed over the check worth P100,000 to Lola Victoria Mascardo from Bgy. Santiago.
The mayor also led the distribution of P5,000 one-time cash incentive to Gentriseño senior citizens who recently reached the age of 80 to 89.
Gentriseño seniors who reached the age of 90 to 99 recently received a P10,000 one-time cash incentive.
The giving of cash incentive was in accordance with City Ordinance 19-19 and City Ordinance 16-13.
“It is the city government’s goal to value and recognize the important role of the seniors in promoting our societ,” Ferrer said.
Mascardo celebrated her 100th birthday on February 14, 2023. She is the 14th centenarian to be recognized by the city since the
local law passed in 2015.
