
CAMP VICENTE LIM, Calamba City, Laguna – Two alleged gun-for-hire members were arrested by operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group while two others were charged with obstruction of justice during the implementation of search warrants in Batangas.
Nabbed were Ronald Maquito and Precioso Ramos, both members of the “Rapol Criminal Group” involved in gun-for-hire activities in Tanauan City and the nearby municipalities of Batangas.
In a report to Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Regional Field Unit (CIDG-RFU) 4A chief Col. Marlon Santos, Batangas Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit provincial officer Lt. Col. Victor Sobrepeña said a tracker team led by CIDG-Batangas PFU, together with the Provincial Intelligence Unit-Batangas, Batangas Police Highway Patrol Team, and Lipa City Police Station implemented the search warrants issued by Lucena City Regional Trial Court Executive Judge Agrifina Bravo.
During the service of the search warrant on Maquito, operatives also arrested John Pawas and Christian Claude after they physically assaulted the team leader.
Pawas and Claude were charged for obstruction of justice.
Seized from the suspects were two cal. 45 pistol and ammunition.
The arrested suspects and the confiscated evidence were brought to the CIDG-Batangas PFU Office for documentation and proper disposition.
