POLICE led by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group on Friday arrested a fake dentist in Trece Martires City, Cavite.
A report submitted to CIDG Region 4-A chief Lt. Col. Joel Manuel A. Ana identified the arrested suspect Syrah Rodriguez, 34, of Blk. 62, L6, Ayala Sampaguita, Bgy. Inocencio, Trece Martires City.
Operatives of the CIDG-Cavite Provincial Field Unit, along with the Cavite Provincial Mobile Force Company, the 401st Mobile Company Regional Mobile Force Battalion 4A, Trece Martires City Police, Maritime Police Station Trece Martires Cavite, and a team from the Philippine Dental Association – Cavite Chapter lead by Dra. Narisa Ragos, deputy chairman Maritime MC, conducted the sting.
The suspect was caught in the act of practicing dental technology at her clinic located at the 2nd floor of the AGDC Bldg. in Bgy. Inocencio, Trece Martires City.
An investigation showed Rodriguez was operating without a certificate of registration and professional identification card, as well as a special permit issued by the proper authority, which constitutes a violation of Republic Act 9484 (The Philippine Dental Act of 2007) or An Act to Regulate the Practice of Dentistry, Dental Hygiene, and Dental Technology in the Philippines.
Seized during the operation were dental equipment, tools and accessories that the suspect used in her illegal activity.
