Cavinti, Laguna – The GMA Kapuso Foundation Inc., together with Army units in Southern Tagalog formally handed-over roofing materials that include corrugated sheets, ridge rolls, coconut lumber, roofing/umbrella nails, and rubber matting to the 100 beneficiaries in Brgy Umiray, General Nakar, Quezon on November 2, 2022, Thursday.
Recently, the said barangay was one of the Typhoon “KARDING” hard-hit areas, which was among the lucky Barangays nationwide to receive GMAKF’s Silong Kapuso Project.
Commanders 202nd Infantry Unifier Brigade, 1st Infantry Battalion, and 564th Engineering Construction Battalion joined the GMAKF Staff and the Barangay Officials in the handing-over of the said materials.
Brigadier General Cerilo C Balaoro Jr, Commander of the 202nd Infantry (Unifier) Brigade thanked the GMAKF for choosing Barangay Umiray as one of the beneficiaries. “There is something inexplicably satisfying in witnessing the typhoon victim residents to receive these much-needed assistance. We in the security sector will continue to support you in all your undertakings, BGen. Balaoro Jr added.
For the next three (3) days, the Army will provide manpower assistance to support the community in the repair of their damaged houses.
