JOINT operatives on Friday seized more than P1.3 million worth of shabu from South Africa and arrested a female claimant in an operation in Dasmariñas, Cavite.
Police identified the arrested recipient as Georgette Elio, 24, a marketing officer, of Indiana St., North 1, San Marino City Subdivision, Dasmariñas, Cavite.
Members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 4A, the Cavite Provincial Drug Enforcement Group, Provincial Intelligence Unit, Foreign Liaison Division, and the Ninoy Aquino International Airport- Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group conducted the operation.
The parcel arrived at the Interdiction Operations Controlled Delivery area at the NAIA.
Authorities became suspicious of the contents of the package when it went through the machine and immediately launched an operation.
Operatives followed the delivery of the parcel to San Marino City Subdivision, where the package ws claimed by Elio.
When checked, the parcel, which was declared as deep tissue massager, was found to be containing four carbon papers with four foil pouches with more than 200 grams of shabu valued at P1.3 million.
Also confiscated from the suspect were one blue clipboard, one parcel receipt, a copy of invoice, a Philippine passport and a cellular phone.
Further investigation showed the package was sent by Thea Kruger of # 209 Grosvoner Road 0083 Hatfield South Africa.
