A POLICE officer accused of involvement in gasoline station robberies on Saturday was arrested by his fellow officers in Bohol.
Nabbed was Staff Sgt. Conchito Payac Jr., a 33-year-old desk officer of Dauis Municipal Police Station, and a resident of President Carlos P. Garcia, Bohol.
Payac was identified as the armed man who robbed a gasoline station in Purok 4, Poblacion, Trinidad town.
A dragnet was launched that led to the arrest of the suspect at 12:43 p.m. Saturday.
The suspect was immediately stripped of his Philippine National Police-issued Glock 9mm semi-automatic pistol with three loaded magazines and PNP identification card.
Also recovered from Payac were P8,000 in cash, a knapsack containing different upper PNP garments, a police athletic uniform and other personal belongings.
Payac’s motorcycle without license plate was impounded by the local police.
Reports said the suspect was also responsible for two robbery incidents in Alicia and Duero municipalities last December 1 and 7.
The arrested policeman is facing criminal charges for robbery. He will also be facing administrative charges for grave misconduct, an offense which is punishable by dismissal from the police force.
