
AGENTS of the Police Regional Office 7 arrested over 600 lawbreakers and seized some P63 million worth of shabu in its stepped-up anti-criminality campaign in Central Visayas region from April 1 to date.
PRO7 director Brig. Gen. Anthony A. Aberin said among those arrested were three “high-value targets” in the region.
One of the suspects identified as Jorie Angga was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Sitio Ponce 2, Bgy. Carreta, Cebu City past 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Members of the Cebu City Police Office confiscated from the suspect 21 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing around 105 grams of the “poor man’s cocaine” valued at P714,000 and the buy-bust money topped by a marked P500 bill from the suspect.
The second suspect identified as Richard Mabini alias “Ilay,” a 57-year- old resident of Doña Modesta Street in Sambag 4, Bgy. Guadalupe, Cebu City, was arrested in a sting near the latter’s residence last Tuesday.
The suspect yielded 16 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing 77 grams of shabu worth nearly P524,000 and the buy-bust money topped by a marked P500 bill.
The third suspect identified as Rey Homer Zapanta was caught on Wednesday afternoon in Sta. Maria, Bgy. Pusok in Lapu-Lapu City in Cebu province.
Last Holy Week, a series of anti-criminality operations in the region resulted in the arrest of 592 law offenders and the seizure of some P44.4 million worth of shabu.
