ANOTHER victim in the daylight killing of Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo and several others on Sunday succumbed to gunshot wounds he sustained during the attack, bringing the number of fatalities to 10.
According to a post from the slain governor’s Facebook page, another victim died.
“His death marks the tenth victim of the Negros Oriental massacre that occurred two months and three days ago in the residence of Governor Degamo,” the post stated.
The 10th fatality was identified as Fredilino Cafe from the Provincial Engineering Office of Umanod, Santa Catalina.
Fredilino passed away from injuries sustained during the daring attack.
“Fredilino was in and out of the hospital since March 4, 2023. He succumbed to his gunshot wounds from two months and three days ago from the bloody terror attack in the residence of Governor Roel Ragay Degamo,” the post read.
Also stated in the post was an appeal for justice for all the victims of the tragic event.
On March 4, heavily-armed suspects wearing camouflage uniforms carried out the attack on the governor’s residence in Pamplona town.
Degamo was meeting beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) when shot dead.
The governor was killed 19 days after the Supreme Court declared him the winner in the contested gubernatorial race in his province.
