MOTORCYCLE-RIDING assassins shot dead a former policeman in front of a school in Bacolod City.
Killed was former PO1 Ryan Lumogdang, 41, of Bgy. Estefania, Bacolod City.
The victim was formerly assigned at Bacolod City Police Stations 1, 2, 4 and City Anti-Illegal Special Operations Task Group before he was dismissed from the service in 2017 after he tested positive for drug use during a random drug test.
An investigation showed prior to the killing, the victim asked permission from his wife to go out to meet someone but did not disclose any information.
Maj. Leo Estopa, Police Station 6 head, said Lumogdang was driving a motorcycle when two men on another motorbike shot him in front of the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos on Lizares Extension in Bgy. 40, Bacolod City past 10 p.m. on Thursday.
Lumogdang died from multiple gunshot wounds.
Recovered at the crime scene were five cartridge cases from still undetermined caliber of gun.
Authorities are investigating the killing.
