A CESSNA-150 aircraft on a training flight on Monday crashed in Mati, Davao Oriental.
The aircraft owned by Mactan Aviation Tech Center Inc. was carrying two crew members – pilot Capt. Manuel Nierra II, and student-pilot Jeremiah Agonia.
An initial report said the plane, with registry number RP-C 9005, took off Mati Airport’s Runway 14 for a training flight at around 7:30 a.m. Monday.
A report from the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines said the aircraft suffered technical problem, causing it to crash in Bgy. Don Martin Marundan, Mati,
CAAP Aircraft Accident Investigation and Inquiry Board personnel were immediately sent to the crash site to investigate the incident.
According to CAAP, the pilot and his student-pilot are being treated for minor bruises at the Mati Provincial Hospital.
