THE Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) places on alert its Migrant Workers Offices (MWOs) in Taiwan after magnitude 6.0 and 6.3 earthquakes shook Hualien County in eastern Taiwan at 2:26 and 2:32 this morning.
Initial reports from Filipino communities and leaders in Hualien County says MWO-Taipei indicate no overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) injured.
MWOs are working closely with the Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO) led by Chairman Silvestre H. Bello III in reaching out to other Filipino communities, local authorities, employers and trade associations to ascertain the safety of our OFWs.
The DMW will issue further bulletins during the day.
