A FORMER KADAMAY member-turned New People’s Army rebel surrendered to authorities in Cabanatuan City.
7th ID commander Major Gen. Andrew Costelo identified the rebel surrenderer as alias “Pado,” 26, of Batasan Hills, Quezon City.
Alias “Pado” was a member of Squad Uno of the NPA’s Kilusang Larangang Gerilya-Sierra Madre.
“Pado” also turned over a Smith and Wesson cal.38 revolver and a grenade to the 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company, the 91st Infantry Battalion under Lt. Col. Reandrew Rubio and the 703rd Infantry Brigade at the NEPPO headquarters in Cabanatuan City.
The returnee admitted having witnessed how his sick comrades died due to lack of medication.
“Nakita kong namatay sa sakit ang binaon nalang sa tabi ng kampo namin ang aming kasamahan. Naisip ko, paano kaya kung sa akin din nangyari iyon? Kaya pinilit ko talagang bumaba at sobrang bumaba na ang moral ko,” alias “Pado” said.
Lt. Col. Rubio, reiterated his call to the remnants of KLG-SM to abandon the terrorist organization and live a peaceful life.
