Fake dentist nabbed in Cavite

AGENTS of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group – Cavite on Sunday arrested a woman for illegal practice of dentistry in Tanza, Cavite.
Arrested was Connieliza Initan of Blk. 29, Lot 26, Phase 2, Lumina Subdivision.
Initan was operating without authority from the law, without a certificate of registration and professional identification card, as well as a special permit issued by the proper authority, which constitutes a violation of Republic Act 9484 (The Philippine Dental Act of 2007) or An Act to Regulate the Practice of Dentistry, Dental Hygiene, and Dental Technology in the Philippines.
Members of the CIDG – Cavite Provincial Field Unit, together with the team of the Philippine Dental Association- Cavite Chapter conducted an entrapment against the suspect.
Seized during the sting were dental paraphernalia such as one 400 grams Alginate impression tray, one set of powder and liquid self-curing tray, a rubber bowl, a plaster spatula, 50 pieces of plastic individual impression tray, 31 assorted rubber ligaties, six pieces of orthodontic wire, one wire cutter, two pieces of hemostat, one articulating holder, a tissue forcep, one beak plier, one unit of low speed micromotor, 10 pieces processed denture with retainer, one unit porcelain crown, a scaler, one piece ortho wax, and 14 pieces acrylic trimmer.
The arrested suspect and the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the CIDG-Cavite PFU Office for documentation and proper disposition.
