Manila – NAGLABAS noong Lunes, April 2, 2025, ng pahayag ang Food and Drug Administration (FDA) ng expanded its list of medicines na exempted sa value-added tax, at sakop nito ang mas maraming gamut para sa cancer, diabetes, hypertension, kidney disease, tuberculosis, at mental health conditions.
Ayon sa FDA ito ay ayon sa direktiba ni President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s upang mapababa pa ang presyo ng mga gamut at ma-improve ang access sa mga essential treatments.
“Layunin ng ating pamahalaan, sa pangunguna ni Pangulong Marcos, na tiyaking hindi magiging pabigat sa bulsa ng bawat Pilipino ang pagbili ng mga maintenance at life-saving medicines,” dagdag pa ng FDA.
Sa naturang FDA Advisory No. 2025-0498, ay nakasaad ang mga additional products na ngayon ay value-added tax (VAT) exempted sa ilalim ng Corporate Recovery and Tax Incentives for Enterprises (CREATE) Act, particular sa Section 12, na nagbibigay ng tax relief sa mga selected health products.
Kasama sa listahan ng VAT-exempt cancer medicines ay ang Bortezomib 3.5 mg powder for injection (IV/SC); Docetaxel (as trihydrate) 20 mg/mL (80 mg/4mL) concentrate for IV infusion; Lenvatinib (as mesylate) 10 mg and 4 mg capsules; Lenalidomide 7.5 mg and 20 mg capsules; and multiple formulations of Paclitaxel.
Sa diabetes naman ay ang Saxagliptin (as hydrochloride) + Dapagliflozin (as propanediol monohydrate) 5 mg/10 mg film-coated tablet ang naidagdag.
Kasama din ang mga bagong gamut para sa hypertension na may kombinasyon ng Losartan potassium, Rosuvastatin (as calcium), at Amlodipine (as camsilate) para sa four dosage variants: 100 mg/20 mg/5 mg, 100 mg/10 mg/5 mg, 50 mg/20 mg/5 mg, and 50 mg/10 mg/5 mg film-coated tablets.
Sa mga pasyenteng may kidney conditions, kasama sa updated list ang peritoneal dialysis solution with 2.5% dextrose. Each 100 mL contains Dextrose Anhydrous BP (2.5 g), Sodium Chloride BP (538 mg), Sodium Lactate BP (448 mg), Calcium Chloride BP (25.7 mg), and Magnesium Chloride BP (5.08 mg).
VAT exempt na rin ang mga gamut sa tuberculosis na nasa form ng dispersible tablet kasama ng Rifampicin (75 mg), Isoniazid (50 mg), and Pyrazinamide (150 mg).
