SANTA CRUZ, LAGUNA — THE newly elected officials of the Provincial Government of Laguna were formally sworn into office on Wednesday, July 2, during an inaugural ceremony held at the Cultural Center of Laguna.
Governor Sol Aragones took her oath of office before Quezon Province Governor Dr. Helen Tan, while Vice Governor JM Carait and the members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan were sworn in by Governor Aragones herself.
In her inaugural address, Governor Aragones unveiled her administration’s key priorities, anchored on her flagship healthcare program, “Akay ni Sol.” Leading the initiative is the immediate rollout of the “Akay ni Sol Mobile Botika,” which will provide free maintenance medicines to senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and individuals with chronic illnesses.
To ensure sustained access to essential healthcare, Aragones also announced the construction of permanent “Akay ni Sol Botika” outlets in all six cities and 24 municipalities of Laguna. Groundbreaking is scheduled for September 2025, with completion targeted by November 2025. These facilities will offer free medicines and medical consultations for vulnerable and underserved communities across the province.
Aragones further outlined her administration’s broader agenda, including:
The launch of the “Akay ni Sol App,” a digital platform for booking and tracking medicine requests and accessing health services;
The promotion of citizen journalism to boost local tourism, complemented by the construction of iconic tourism arches in key cities and municipalities;
A firm commitment to transparency and accountability, emphasizing clean, honest, and responsive governance.
The oath-taking ceremony marked the start of a new administration focused on inclusive healthcare, digital innovation, tourism revitalization, and principled public service for the people of Laguna.
