POLICE on Thursday arrested a 20-year-old man for allegedly stealing his grandmother’s money in Cabanatuan City.
The victim was Perfecta Vivar, a 67-year-old restaurant owner, of 940 Zulueta St., Bgy. Zulueta, Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija.
Vivar told policed that she saw her grandson fleeing after he allegedly destroyed the door of her room and the lock of her cabinet before carting away the money worth P8,000.
Operatives of the barangay peace-keeping force and the police patrol team arrested the suspect in a follow-up operation.
Charges for robbery are being readied for filing in court against the suspect.
