SPEAKER Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez on Wednesday met with Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) General Manager Mel Robles and Philippine Medical Association (PMA) President Dr. Hector Santos Jr. where they discussed the use of state charity agency funds to pay doctors’ fees.
Robles and Santos responded to the request of Speaker Romualdez, who acted on the directive of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. to explore ways to ensure improved healthcare delivery for Filipinos.
PCSO will soon shoulder the professional fees of doctors treating patients covered by the Medical Assistance for Indigent Patients Program (MAIPP).
Deputy Majority Leader for Communications and ACT-CIS Party-list Rep. Erwin Tulfo facilitated the meeting.
House Senior Deputy Speaker and Pampanga Rep. Aurelio “Dong” Gonzales Jr., House Committee on Appropriations chairman and Ako Bicol Party-list Rep. Zaldy Co, House Majority Leader and Zamboanga City Rep. Manuel Jose “Mannix” M. Dalipe, and ACT-CIS Edvic Yap also joined the meeting.
