THE House of Representatives is mourning the passing of former Nueva Ecija Rep. Eduardo Nonato “Edno” Joson, a dedicated public servant whose contributions to governance left a lasting impact on his province and the nation.
In a statement, House Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez expressed deep sorrow over Joson’s passing, recalling their time as colleagues during the 14th Congress.
“His loss is deeply felt by those who had the privilege of working with him and by the many lives he touched through his years of service,” Romualdez said.
Joson, who also served as Governor of Nueva Ecija and later as Administrator of the National Food Authority, was known for his steadfast advocacy for agricultural development, rural progress, and economic resilience. His tenure in Congress was marked by his commitment to crafting policies that uplifted his constituents and promoted sustainable growth in the province.
“His leadership was always guided by a deep sense of duty, putting the needs of the people at the forefront of his efforts,” Romualdez added.
As a lawmaker, Joson was a strong voice for Nueva Ecija, pushing for reforms that benefited farmers and strengthened the local economy. His dedication extended beyond the halls of Congress, with his governance in the province reflecting the same passion for public service.
The House of Representatives joins the people of Nueva Ecija in honoring Joson’s legacy, recognizing his invaluable contributions to public service.
“May Gov. Joson be remembered for his service and passion in public service, and may he rest in eternal peace,” Romualdez said.
