THE Integrated Bar of the Philippines appealed to the Philippine National Police to arrest the suspects behind the murder of a lawyer right inside his office in Sto. Tomas City, Batangas.
Lawyer Reginald Michael Manito, 42, was shot dead by two suspects who barged in his office on Gov. Malvar Ave., Bgy. Poblacion 1 last Thursday.
Manito died in the hospital after suffering multiple bullet wounds in different parts of the body.
The gunmen immediately fled after the killing.
“Nananawagan ang IBP sa mga kinauukulan sa agarang pag imbestiga at pagdakip sa mga salarin upang sila ay managot sa ilalim ng ating batas,” the IBP said in a statement.
“Ang samabayanang Pilipino ay nawalan ng isang abogado na walang pakundangang tatayo sa harap ng hukuman upang ipagtanggol ang karapatan ng mga kapuspalad at mga nasa laylayan ng lipunan,” it added.
Manito was eyeing a seat in the City Council in the May 9 national and local elections before he was killed.
