The Department of Health (DOH) Region 1 is the top region with the most number of booster shots with a total of 21,361 doses (13.32%) given during the two days “Bayanihan, Bakunahan 3” National Vaccination Days conducted simultaneously all over the region from February 10-11, 2022
“We have administered a total of 21,361 doses out of the 160,317 targets for a total of 13.32% as of February 11, 2022. We will endeavor to accomplish our vaccination goals until February 18 in order to provide the needed protection to our residents against the Covid virus,” Regional Director Paula Paz M. Sydiongco.
“Para sa mga hindi pa nakakumpleto ng kanilang mga bakuna ay magpunta lamang po tayo sa mga itinalagang mga vaccination sites sa inyong mga lugar at magpabakuna. Dalhin lamang po ang inyong mga vaccination cards,” she added.
The region also made it to the second place in terms of overall National Vaccination Days Coverage with 46,291 (22.26%) and in third place in terms of primary dose target with 24,930 (53,33%) vaccinated.
Dagupan City recorded the highest NVD rate with 2,146 (26.57%251.73% or 1,601 individuals vaccinated surpassing the 636 targets for the two-day NVD.
The province with the highest number of vaccinated individuals is Ilocos Sur with 33,285 (26.71%) doses given followed by Ilocos Norte with 29,907 (26.03%), Pangasinan with 20,907 (20.59%) and La Union with 6,575 (18.68%).
For the most booster shots administered, Ilocos Sur also tops the list with 6,758 (24,04%) boosted followed by Ilocos Norte with 5,299 (20.19%), La Union with 3,350 (13.05%), Pangasinan – 5,409 (7.42%) and Dagupan City – 545 (7.32%).
Dagupan City on the other hand exceeded its target for the primary dose administering a total of 1,601 (251.73%) doses out of the 636 targets. Ilocos Norte has immunized 2,486 individuals (67.87%) followed by Pangasinan with 15,487 (54.10%), Ilocos Sur – 2,131 (41.18%) and La Union – 3,225 (33.83%).
Sydiongco emphasized that the on-going vaccination in not mandatory. “Ang ginagawa po nating vaccination ay boluntaryo at hindi po sapilitan. “Ang DOH ay hindi magbibigay bakuna lalo na sa mga batang na walang pahintulot ang kanilang mga magulang.”
“Ang bakuna laban sa Covid virus ay epektibo at makikita natin ito sa patuloy na pagbaba ng mga kaso sa ating rehiyon dahil na rin ito sa patuloy na pangtangkilik ng ating mga residente sa libreng bakuna na pinamimigay ng ating kagawaran,” she said.
No reported serious adverse event during the conduct of the two-day NVD in the region.
