AN alleged envious man on Saturday night shot dead the new live-in partner of his ex in the victim’s home in Calamba City, Laguna.
The suspect was later on killed by an angry mob while resisting arrest.
Laguna provincial director Col. Randy Glenn Silvio identified the victim as Roilan Mendes Ilao.
The suspect was Randy Contreras Perez.
Police said Ilao’s live-in partner, Marites Sulit, was Perez’s former “wife.”
An investigation showed Perez barged inside the house of Ilao and shot the victim, who was then sleeping with Sulit, at Purok 1, Bgy. Wawa, Calamba City around 11 p.m. on Saturday.
Perez left Sulit unhurt.
The suspect was about to escape when cornered by responding barangay police security officers and an angry mob.
He was rushed to JP Rizal Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival by attending physician Dr. Ramoncito Lopez due to severe injuries.
