PHILIPPINE National Police chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr. yesterday appealed to the leaders and the people of Quezon to keep united for the benefit of the province.
The country’s top cop made the appeal following his donation of a newly-procured patrol car for the Candelaria Police Station.
Azurin said Quezonians should consider Candelaria as a model of progress and unity as he congratulated its leaders, especially Mayor George Suayan, Vice Mayor Macario Boongaling, and the latter’s elder brother, philantropist Leodegario “Ka Luding” Boongaling, who has been helping the town and its police force.
Present during the activity were Maj. Gen. Jesus Cambay, chief of the Directorate for Comptrollership, Brig. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez, the Calabarzon police director, and Col. Ledon Monte, the Quezon police director.
Azurin assured the town leaders of the PNP’s continuous support as he announced the nearing construction of a modern municipal police station in the town.
Azurin served as commander of the Area Police Command for Southern Luzon based in Lucena City, Quezon province’ capital.
